Day 64 of Grief: The ‘Magical Power’ of Misery.

So here is a strange case.

I went to the dentist today, and I hate going to the dentist. No thats a lie, I dont hate dentists, its a necessary evil- and they rid you of dental pain, so they are quite godly actually!

It was just a check-up and clean, but I get quite anxious. Any wee nervy feeling and I have to stop. The dentist asked me did I need freezing up, but I thought, no, I will try without.

Then she started, and throughout it I thought of Darren and him lying on the ground.

And somehow my focus and grief on that stopped me feeling the usual nervy way I do at the dentist. It was like it wasn’t as nervy sore because my head was just thinking about him there, on the floor.

It was strange. Something that would normally make me anxious just didn’t, because my mind was somewhere else entirely. I kept thinking of Darren, lying on our bathroom floor. Weird huh.
