Northern Ireland Grief and Bereavement Support Directory
This directory brings together organisations, charities, helplines, counselling services and sources of practical help available to people in Northern Ireland.
Some are based in Northern Ireland. Others are UK-wide or all-Ireland organisations whose services may also be available here. If somebody has only just died and you are unsure what to do next, you may find it easier to begin with my What to Do When Someone Dies in Northern Ireland guide.
What kind of support are you looking for?
You can browse the full directory or go directly to the section that feels most relevant to you:
- Northern Ireland support and local services
- General grief support and counselling
- Support after the death of a spouse or partner
- Support for children, young people and families
- Sudden, traumatic and specific types of death
- Practical, financial and legal help
- Immediate emotional and crisis support
- Specialist and accessible support
You do not have to contact every organisation or work out exactly what kind of help you need before reaching out. If one service cannot provide the right support, it may be able to point you towards someone who can. Please check each organisation’s website for its current opening hours, eligibility requirements, referral process and area of coverage, as these can change.
Have I missed a useful service?
I want this directory to become a genuinely useful collection of grief and bereavement support for people in Northern Ireland. If you know of an organisation, charity, support group, helpline or useful service that should be included, please contact me and send me the details. There is no charge to be considered for inclusion. However, every suggestion will be reviewed before it is added so that the directory remains relevant, trustworthy and genuinely helpful to bereaved people.
