These services provide listening, information, counselling, peer support or online communities following different kinds of bereavement. Not every service offers counselling. Some provide a listening ear, peer support or information. Always check whether there is a cost, waiting list, referral requirement or geographical restriction.

Bereaved NI is the regional Health and Social Care website for people experiencing grief and bereavement in Northern Ireland. You can search for support according to who has died, the circumstances of the death and the type of help you need. Search for support through Bereaved NI

Health and Social Care Trust bereavement services- Northern Ireland | HSC information and local contacts

Each Health and Social Care Trust has bereavement information and a Bereavement Coordinator. They may be able to answer questions, provide information or direct you towards appropriate support in your area. Find HSC bereavement information

  • Northern Ireland Counselling Marie Curie Northern Ireland
    Information and emotional support for people affected by terminal illness, dying and bereavement. Marie Curie can also help you find other appropriate services, although its general Support Line does not provide counselling.

  • UK Cancer bereavement The Loss Foundation
    We are the UK’s only charity specialising in support for people bereaved by cancer. We offer grief support events at any stage of loss, connecting you with others who understand. We also educate and empower people to offer grief support through workshops and bereavement training.
  • Northern Ireland Cancer bereavement Cancer Focus NI Counselling
    Counselling for people affected by cancer, including family members and people experiencing bereavement.
  • UK and Northern Ireland Cancer bereavement Macmillan grief support
    Information and support following the death of someone with cancer.
  • MenPeer support StrongMen
    Grief, peer and wellbeing support for men aged 18 and over.
  • Northern Ireland LGBTQIA+ Cancer Champions LGBTQIA+ Cancer Support Hub
    Offers one-to-one support, a space to talk and help finding practical local services for LGBTQIA+ people affected by cancer. It also supports people experiencing cancer-related grief or bereavement and provides LGBTQIA+-specific cancer information and resources.
